There seems to be an unhealthy fascination in society today - bordering on an obsession in some quarters. What is this fascination? It is the fascination with sexual perversion! You only have to take one look at the media, you can't miss it. And it is effecting all areas of society. The workplace. Schools. Even the church! Take a look
at our TV screens. There are now more and more soaps, dramas, US imported programmes and films that either feature or mention homosexuality. Let me ask you a question. Are you fascinated with sexual perversion? Fascinated with lesbiansim? Homosexuality? If the answer is yes, have you ever asked yourself why? There are many different examples of God's wrath and judgement on people in the Bible, and Sodom and Gomorrah is probably the most well known. God gave us Sodom as an example. The reason why God did this, was because He loves you and has no desire that you perish in some fiery judgement; "The Lord is longsuffering towards us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance." (2 Peter 3 v 9) The human mind can be extremely clever and we can willingly allow ourselves to be deceived with such notions as, 'we were born this way', 'God is a She', 'we are victims of events in our past', 'homosexuality is completely natural' etc. These statements can be used to help justify a lustful addiction to what the Bible calls 'strange flesh'. (Jude 7) The Word Of God is quite clear in this matter; men lusting after men and women lusting after women is denounced as shameful and unnatural (Romans 1 v 26 -27) and will in due season, be judged accordingly. We find in Ezekiel 16 v 49-50, that Sodom wasn't just judged for committing abominations before God. There was an accompanying pride and haughtiness linked with a pleasure orientated self-sufficiency that was openly defying God. Much like today's society. Now, the good news is that Jesus Christ died on a cross at Calvary for all mankind's sins. He is not condemning you. In fact, the Bible declares, "that God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved." (John 3 v 17) But the truth of the matter is, if you are living a sexually perverted lifestyle, whether in action or thought, you are already condemned! The Bible says that your own life condemns you, your own deeds condemn you, your own thoughts condemn you, because you love sin and darkness. You love the evil that you do because you do not believe on the Name of Jesus Christ. "He that believeth on him (Jesus) is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather
than light, because their deeds were evil". (John 3 v 18 - 19) In the same way that God's grace saved Lot from Sodom (Genesis 19), so you also have a way of escape. The grace and love of God was such that He gave Jesus, His only son, to be crucified for us. If we believe on Jesus, repent and receive God's forgiveness, we become righteous in God's sight and come into everlasting life. Already righteous you protest? Well here's an acid test. Do you make racist judgements or assumptions about people that you don't even know, based soley on the colour of the person's skin? If you do you are definately not righteous - in fact the Bible says you have an evil heart. "The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?" (Jeremiah 17 v 9) Is it possible to be racist AND righteous? Is it possible to be racist AND love God? There is no such thing as a GOOD person who is racist. Likewise, there is no such thing as a person who loves God, who is also an unrepentant sexual pervert. You can be one or the other, you cannot be both. Despite your sins, God loves you so much and He desires that you turn to Him with all your heart. He wants you to turn away from your sins. He wants to set you free from them. Yes, you are in bondage to your sins, even if you don't know it. He doesn't want you to go to hell, he wants you to go to heaven. I urge you to pray this prayer to escape hell and to go to heaven instead. Hell is the place where all who reject Jesus Christ will go. Pray this prayer and receive the love, healing and freedom that can only come from God. "Dear Jesus, I come to you. I confess I am a sinner in need of mercy and forgiveness. I am on my way to hell because of my sins. I believe you are the Son of God. I believe you died for me and that God Almighty raised you from the dead. I repent of my sins. Please forgive me for all my sins. I ask you right now to come into my heart and be my Lord and Saviour. Thank you for saving me Jesus. Give me a brand new heart and a clean mind. Help me to live the way you want me to live. In Jesus Name I pray, Amen.
